The Smart City Initiative
The Smart City Initiative centers on developing total solutions for modern city management in the era of digital convergence. It highlights the integration and application of technologies that can improve safety, convenience, healthcare and social welfare, and low-carbon energy. This initiative also intends to produce core facilities and standardized systems to promote scale-up and easy adoption for the whole country.
Next-generation Broadcasting Network
The present research is to develop technologies that combine the networks of digital broadcasting, bidirectional access (telecommunication), and broad-band internet. This setup of wireless Next-Generation Broadcasting (NGB-W) can drastically increase the variety, velocity, volume and value of the information transmitted. In addition, the team is working closely with the regulatory agencies to formulate the industrial standards so as to accelerate the implementation of NGB-W and transform the traditional broadcasting industry that is now at the crossroad.
Web-based Solutions for Product Development
This study is to develop web-based software packages that straddle various digital and internet technologies to accelerate product development while curbing the costs. By implementing such a web business environment equipped with standard application interfaces, we are allowing users to improve the efficiencies in all steps of the product life cycle including design, testing, virtual manufacturing, and services.
