On January 22, 2011, Professor Ravi Naidu, Managing Director of the Cooperative Research Centre for Contamination Assessment and Remediation of the Environment. (CRC CARE), paid a visit to SARI. Prof. Vice Presidents of SARI JIANG Biao and Prof. SUN Yuhan received the visitors, and held a meeting with them. Scientific researchers from Sustainable Technology Research Center attended the meeting.

On January 17, 2011, a team from Shell led by Dr. Bruce Levell, Vice President of Emerging Technologies and Chief Scientist Geology Projects and Technology, paid a visit SARI. SUN Yuhan, Vice President of SARI, received the visitors and held a meeting with the Shell team. Related personnel from LU'AN Group, Elion Group, ICC, and scientific researchers from Energy and Environment area attended the meeting.

On December 24 2010, W.S. Winston Ho, Academician of National Academy of Sciences of United States and Professor of Ohio State University, Chemical Engineering Department, paid a visit to SARI in Pudong Science and Technology Park and addressed on the topic of "Recent Advances in Membranes for Water Purification".

On December 17th 2010, Jean-Jacques PIERRAT, Technology Consul of French Consulate in Shanghai and a delegation from INRIA paid a visit to our institute.

On December 18th, 2010, Shanghai Advanced Research Institute (SARI) of Chinese Academy of Sciences singed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), the University of Delaware Energy Institute (UDEI), Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), Institute of Coal Chemistry (ICC) and Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), to establish the International Consortium for Clean Energy (ICCE).

The International Symposium on Urban Futures and Human and Ecosystem Wellbeing, co-organized by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) Shanghai Branch and Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of CAS, was well received by attendees and participating organizations. United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment (SCOPE) thought highly of the symposium and expressed their thanks and congratulations for the successful event.

On December 2, 2010, a delegation from Shell led by Dr. Alexander W. van der Made, Manager Group External Research Projects, visited SARI. Prof. SUN Yuhan, Vice Director of SARI, received the visitors and held a meeting with the Shell team.

On November 22, 2010, a delegation of fourteen members from Poland led by Andrzej Pieczonka and Jerzy SMOLIK visited SARI. Prof. FENG Songlin, Director of SARI, held a meeting with the delegation.

Urban Futures and Human and Ecosystem Wellbeing Symposium was held from Oct.26 to Oct.30, 2010 in Shanghai. This Symposium was jointly sponsored by the Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment (SCOPE).

October 12 2010 - Dr. Bruce Alberts, Chief Editor of SCIENCE and Professor of University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Richard Stone, Editor of SCIENCE in Asia-Pacific region and Mr. JIA Hepeng,Chief Editor of Science News, paid a visit to Shanghai.

September 17, 2010 – Dr. Chuck Peden, Interim Director of the Institute for Interfacial Catalysis (IIC) at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), Dr. George Muntean, Director of Transportation Program and Energy Conversion Initiative and Dr. Yong Wang, Associate Director of IIC, visited Shanghai Advanced Research Institute (SARI) of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

August 25, 2010 - Sir Ian Wilmut, Director of Scottish Centre for Regenerative Medicine, visited Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences (SARI), together with Chief Operating Office of the Center Bruce Whitelaw, President of Linx Pharmaceutical Co.,Ltd Xu Xiaochun and Edinburgh University Representative in China Nini Yang.
