President of Grenoble Alpes University Leads Delegation to Visit SARI
On July 22, Prof. Yassine Lakhnech, President of Grenoble Alpes University, headed a delegation to visit the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as SARI). Prof. Deng Haixiao, President of SARI, attended the meeting and delivered an address. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on cooperation over large science infrastructures, talent exchange and training, and other topics.

Deng Haixiao introduced SARI’s overall research layout and its large science infrastructures. He stated that SARI has maintained long-term close cooperation with French research partners in fields including large science facilities and low-carbon energy technologies. Taking this visit as an opportunity, he hoped both sides could explore cooperation in the open sharing of large science infrastructures as well as the training and exchange of young talents. Lakhnech remarked that there exists broad room for bilateral collaboration between both sides, and he looked forward to forging cooperative ties by leveraging the respective strengths of both institutions. Following the meeting, the delegation paid a tour of the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility.
