A delegation led by Mr. LIU Lizu, Director of Forestry Department of Jiangxi Province, paid a visit to SARI on Feb.14th and were warmly received by Prof. JIANG Biao, Vice President of SARI and Director of Sustainable Technology Research Center.

The delegation inspected SARI's laboratory buildings and equipments, followed by a discussion with SARI's related researchers.
Prof. JIANG suggested that Jiangxi Province should take advantage of its rich forest resources to develop high value-added products through sustainable development model and extend to the downstream industrial chain to realize comprehensive utilization of resources and reduce environmental pollution while boosting its economy. He also put forward the programme called “construction of high value-added aromatic industry of forest biomass in Jiangxi", and mainly introduced the production of menthol by using of turpentine, the biological extraction of tea seed oil, biochar and carbon-based compound fertilizer and comprehensive utilization of bamboo fiber, etc.
Mr. LIU showed great interest in and thought highly of SARI's research projects, believing that the research projects will have a bright future and could play an important role in the comprehensive utilization of local forest resources in Jiangxi. Two parties exchanged views on the collaboration mode of innovative forestry economic development and agreed to strengthen cooperation.
