Lecture for Sino-Italian Cooperation on Climate Change Successfully Held at SARI

On November 5th, Dr. Corrado Clini, President of the Italy-China Friendship Association and former Minister of the Italian Ministry of Environment, paid a visit to the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (SARI). He was invited as a guest speaker to the "SARI Lecture " and delivered a keynote speech titled "Sino-Italian Cooperation on Climate Change." Prof. Huang Zhengren, President of SARI, as well as Dr. Vojko Bratina, Science and Technology Counsellor of the Italian Consulate General in Shanghai, joined the event together with researchers and students in energy and environment sector at SARI.

President Huang, on behalf of SARI, welcomed Dr. Clini and expressed his thanks to Dr. Clini for the great contribution to environmental cooperation between China and Italian, and awarded him the Certificate of Distinguished Scientist of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

During Dr. Clini’ s lecture, he emphasized that climate change has always been a crucial issue of continuous attention and cooperation between China and Italy. The international community is actively seeking innovative measures, advanced technologies, and effective solutions to enhance energy efficiency, promote renewable energy development, drive circular economy initiatives, and strengthen conservation ecosystem. China has made continuous investments in decarbonization technologies and achieved remarkable results.Deepening cooperation between China and Italy in this field can help both countries achieve carbon neutrality and green sustainable development and contribute to the world for a green and sustainable future.

The audience actively engaged in discussions with Dr. Clini on various topics including energy policies, energy efficiency, and the future of clean energy.
