Call for Visiting Students Program for International Students of the Chinese Academy of Sciences

In order to further strengthen the international exchanges and cooperation, the  Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) has launched the Visiting Student Program to welcome outstanding young students from all over the world for short term visits and academic exchanges lasting 1-6 months at CAS-affiliated research institutes or universities.

Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "SARI") is a multidisciplinary and comprehensive research and educational institution jointly established by CAS and Shanghai Municipal Government in 2012, focusing on the development, construction and operation of large scale scientific facilities of advanced light source, and conducts innovative research and core technology R&D in the fields of accelerator science, photon science, energy science and information science.

The visit must be a single trip to China and cannot be split into two or more visits, and should be completed before June 30, 2026.

Funding: Each international visiting student will receive a monthly stipend of RMB 10,000 to cover accommodation, domestic transportation, and living allowances during their stay in China. Additionally, a one-time travel subsidy of RMB 10,000 will be provided for international visiting students. 

Application Documents:1)The International Visiting Student Application Form in both Chinese and English (with signatures in person or clear electronic signatures where required); 2)A recent passport-style photo of the visiting student; 3)A scanned copy of the visiting student's passport identification page; 4)A collaborative research plan (in English); 5)The visiting student's resume (in English); 6)A recommendation letter from the Chinese collaborator (in Chinese); 7)A recommendation letter from a foreign professor (including the master's/Ph.D. supervisor or the PI of the current research group).
