Shanghai-XFEL Beamline Project (SBP), the sister project of Shanghai Soft XFEL User Facility takes live cell imaging as its main innovation, involving biology, physics, chemistry, and other disciplines. Stations of Undulator Beamline, Optical Beamline, live cell imaging, physical chemistry, many other labs, and the peripheral systems will be built, integrating the most successful and cutting-edge techniques in biological research ---Fluorescence Super-resolution Optics Microscopic Imaging and X-ray Free Electron Laser Microscopic Imaging. The project aims to explore the intracellular nano-world, and ultimately to boost the Chinese scientific community’s core competence to solve the major scientific issues in life mechanism exploration, catalytic reaction control, and artificial quantum modulation.
