SARI, PNNL, UDEI, DICP, ICC and QIBEBT to Establish ICCE
date: 2010-12-20
On December 18th, 2010, Shanghai Advanced Research Institute (SARI) of Chinese Academy of Sciences singed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), the University of Delaware Energy Institute (UDEI), Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), Institute of Coal Chemistry (ICC) and Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology (QIBEBT), to establish the International Consortium for Clean Energy (ICCE).
It is pointed out in the MOU that US and China are among the world’s largest economies, use the most energy and produce the most emissions; that both nations can benefit from a research and development collaborations to achieve safe and secure energy systems, improve the lives of general welfare of the people in an environment-friendly way and address global climate change. The parties mentioned above are all internationally leading centers for molecular sciences research, with the signing of this MOU, the parties aim to formalize a collaborative working relationship to work together towards common goals in the molecular sciences, specifically in the area of next generation energy production, storage and utilization technologies.
Professor SUN Yuhan, Vice Director of SARI, signed the contract and discussed with the other members of ICCE in further detail regarding the sustainable development of ICCE and future collaboration opportunities.
