2010 International Industry Exposition of China was held in Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) from Nov.9th to Nov.13th of 2010. The theme of this Exposition is "Scientific Innovation and Equipment Manufacturing Industry". There were 6 exhibition sections: Digit Control Machine Tool and Metal Processing, Application of Information and Communications Technology, Industrial Automation, New Energy and Electrical Power, Environmental-friendly Technology and Equipment, and Scientific Innovation. Shanghai Advanced Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with other institutes of CAS, was displayed in the Scientific Innovation Section, showing off institute's fruitful results of scientific innovations in recent years.
Exhibits of Shanghai Advanced Research Institute includingthe following eight projects: Emergency medical care system, Green intelligent city network, the exploration and application of support system based on cloud computing, Permanent hydrophilic high-performance hollow fiber membrane which aims at industrial and municipal water treatment, Uhf radio frequency identification tag and system to support Security applications, WiFi RFIC integrated chips which are based on InGaP/GaAs HBT, release agent SINEEX and Lubrification modifier of low sulfur diesel oil, High power LED which is based on functional lighting. Since all these projects were designed to meet the needs of national and regional development, they had attracted many professionals home and abroad due to their focus on Industry development trend, high starting point and advanced technology.
Since its establishment , Shanghai Advanced Research Institute has been focusing on strengthening independent innovation capability by conducting key scientific researches according to national strategic goals and actively promoting the transfer between interdisciplinary study and technological achievements. Those achievements had been well-displayed in this year's International Industry Exposition of China. For example, the Emergency Medical Care System introduced a dangerous chemicals Emergency Medical Treatment System which is badly needed by government and will greatly benefit the public. Green intelligent city network refers to intelligent energy network which is able to distribute, use and allocate energy supply accordingly. It aims to maximize the energy use and enhance energy security in communities by using low-carbon energy and traditional energy efficiently. Optoelectronics Technology, a joint venture established by CAS, top the others in LED Lighting industry by its advanced scientific and technological strength and invented seven product lines and over 100 Optronics, especially the LED High-Pole Lamp, street lamp, tunnel lamp, etc.
SARI aims to improve the independent innovation capability both nationally and regionally and play a vital role in enhancing Shanghai's international competitiveness by making good use of resources provided by CAS and comprehensive advantage edge of Shanghai.
